In September 2022, GSS Developments purchased the former Continental Tyres Factory Site.
Since then, significant progress has been made. In November 2023, we were pleased to receive Planning Application in Principle approval for the site, marking a major milestone in advancing the development. In addition, planning permission has been granted for Plot 1, which will house Multi-let units designed to attract a variety of businesses.
This ambitious project will transform the site into a thriving commercial business park. The development includes light industrial units for trade counters and logistics, as well as an EV charging hub. We are also committed to enhancing local amenities, infrastructure, landscaping, and site access, making the site an ideal location for modern businesses.
The expansive brownfield site has remained derelict since the factory closed in 1999. With these latest planning approvals, we are now positioned to unlock its potential and bring much-needed jobs and investment to Newbridge.
The well-known site is strategically located within easy reach of Edinburgh Airport and is well-connected to national road networks, providing direct access to the M8, M9, M90, and the Edinburgh City Bypass.
